A normal high school day is 6:00-7:50 getting to or getting ready for school, 8:00-3:24 school ending, and 3:24-5:00 getting home. Chores can differ from person to person, and so can the homework amount. Research says it takes about 4 hours, for a high school student, so well go with that amount. After 7-6 hours in school you have to keep being around school for 4 hours, or so, doing homework. Feelings toward homework can affect your mental health. people with hobbies may be less likely to experience stress, low mood, and depression. Some hobbies can still stimulate the brain like hand movements stimulate both sides of your brain. Creativity can reduce stress and improve mental health. People either can show that in CTE’s or they don’t/can’t show it, since not all CTE’s help everyone’s creativity. There is gaming after school, but every kid wants to go or might not be able to.
Meaning they either spend more time at school, and become more drained or stay up all night playing games at home. If they do go to after school then they don’t have time at home to wind down, to be calm. The chance to relax for the whole day of the same thing. Of going to school, the same class, the same work, and then leaving school everyday. Except for the two day weekend. Then if they don’t go to after school, and stay up playing games at night. Then their grades plummet, and they sleep in class. Now the option for them is to forcefully go to after school, accept the bad grade, and retake the class. Some people have a schedule of a certain time for chores, homework, and hobbies/games. Either they have low chore/home/game time or they still end up staying up really late. All together meaning they have to choose to stay at school though they are tired, and drained. Or between being tired all day, having bad grades, or being forced into after school.
Which after school can help people, but it’s not for everyone. Some people generally don’t have time for it, but that isn’t everyone in this school. Yet, there are those hands full of people that don’t or can’t do it after school, so have to make a decision. Then there are people with hobbies like taking care of animals. animals can reduce loneliness, increase feelings of social support, and boost your mood. Which is why there are emotional support animals. Again meaning you have to choose to take care of animals or do homework. Some people don’t have a hobby, and become drained quickly during school. Some people feel like it’s just always work, no matter what, and it becomes tiring. As a result, people may show a lack of motivation to see friends, go to class, or participate in the social activities that they once showed interest in.
