Have you ever experienced a snow day during the winter growing up? A snow day is one of the most magical things adolescents can experience. It’s all fun and games until students are required to do re-imagined work after the first five free snow days; we all experienced re-imagined days that at some point in our lives as well as ordinary snow days. We all know that we would rather do something fun instead of doing homework. However, despite their disadvantages, re-imagined days aren’t the worst thing to happen to us and can actually do good to us; they can provide us material for future reference and as much time as students need to be ready to work.
Material for Future Reference for Future Grades
Some re-imagined material could either be material we know, or something we may not have covered in class. I believe that doing work, especially when you’ve done it before, can be a good refresher for your memory and could help you for future worksheets, tests, etc. Learning something new in a re-imagined packet could help you just the same, as long as you look at the material carefully and do the work correctly. This could apply to ANY subject imaginable, including the core classes and elective classes.
Extra Time
Students on normal school days are required to wake up as early as 6:00 AM, or 5:00 AM. which can make them feel drowsy and unprepared to be on task. However, re-imagined days provide students all of the time they need to be ready to work; for example, a student could wake up at 9:30 AM, eat breakfast, brush their teeth, etc. and be ready to work at 10:30 AM. As long as students do not have to attend meetings with their teachers, they can do just that. Also, students could take as many breaks as they need, which could increase productivity.
Conclusion
To a lot of students, Re-imagined days aren’t something we have to go through during snow days because they might rather play video games, or play in the snow. I think all students should know that re-imagined days can provide us material for future reference, which can impact their future grades. They should also know that they have as much time as they need to be ready to work; they could wake up and be ready to work anytime they wish. Just remember the next time you have a re-imagined day, it will have its advantages.
