The popular Cavendish banana, which is what you find at any store or supermarket comprises nearly half of all bananas consumed worldwide. It is currently facing a threat from a fungal infection called Panama Disease. This fungus gets into the banana tree’s roots, metastasizes to the rest of the plant and starves it of food and water until it dies. This is something you should keep up with since it’s quite a big deal. Personally, I’m a big banana guy so this affects me emotionally and physically.
