Around christmas time we have many things that people celebrate differently. Some people celebrate for different beliefs or for no belief at all.
The main reason we celbrate christmas is for the one who died for all of are sins so that we could be forgiven and go to heaven. Jesus was born on christmas and that is one of the most important reasons of all.
Some people have Santa come to there house on christmas eve night to deliver there presents that they have wanted for a long time. With his 8 reindeers of course! Elf on the Shelf is the big deal for the little kids to act right so they don’t have to go back and tell santa.
Hanukkah is another one that people celbrate for 8 days with candles for each of those days as rededication of the temple in 165BC by the Maccabees after its desecration by the Syrians. Those eight days the number of candles symbolized the days the temple latern blazed. During those 8 days your are not aloud to eat no pork or shellfish. They believe that having those days give them time to find fresh supplys.
For the non religious people they just celbrate christmas for the gifts and the food and time they get to spend with there loved ones.
This week we also had a door decorating contest and not many of the teachers participated in the contest but some did and the ones that did had very cute and a lot of christmas on them.
