We wanted to interview one of amazing teachers at this school, that does a lot for are school family. We had her write us a little bit about her life and the fun and adventful things that she has did. This is what she had told us, “I have been a teacher on and off for around twenty years. I started teaching typing and microsoft Office at Rainelle Christian Academy in 1999. I continued to teach there and coach volleyball until 2006. I then took a job as Director of a day-care center for a few years, but i really missed teaching. I went back to teaching as a substitute in public school in 2008. I subbed for Ms. Bell in an elementary art class for about 3 months. That was definitely not my forte!
I took a long- term substitute position at West in 2009-2010 for Mr. Linkenhoker, who taught business. I found my calling. I took a full-time position the next year and taught business her until 2019, when I took assistant principle position at an elementary school in Roane County. I liked what I was doing but i was there when covid-19 shut down everything and I didn’t know many people. It was very isolating. I decided to find a job closer to home. I taught business at Shady Spring High School during the 21-22 school year and then saw an opening at West for an English teacher. I applied for it, as they say the rest is history.”
Everyone that we had talked to really liked her and thought she was a super friendly teacher. She has had a pretty great and wonderful work career. I feel like she has many years ahead of her for more great and wonderful things that God has planned for her. Her work has not been finished yet!!!
