The lack of teachers at our school is a problem, there’s no doubt about that. With a large portion of teachers quitting/ getting fired due to various reasons. Due to this, not only are students not getting the education they require to move forward in life successfully, but its almost a waist of time being in school just to have half of your teachers not at school, therefor, half of the day is spent sitting at a desk doing nothing. The students understand that teacher have lives, but they also have a great responsibility to uphold, a greater responsibility than most jobs, teachers are the pathway to every kids future, but due to the lack of teaching jobs being filled, and the excessive amount of teachers absent, students are not getting the education they deserve, and need. Kids of all ages need a stable learning environment to succeed, but some of these teachers are setting Horrible examples for us.

One big factor for the teacher shortage in america is pay, the teacher pay is just over 45k a year, for the jobs and responsibilities teachers hold, especially in these times, they deserve to make more. Nobody wants to be a teacher, not only do they have to deal with possible shooter, bombers, fights, and so much more, they have to deal with moody kids for 8 plus hours a day. Close to 1700 teaching spots are open in WV alone due to this shortage.
