Through your school aged years you will go through many transitions. Elementary school to middle school, middle school to high school, then ending from high school to college, but how do students feel about the transition? Moving up from middle school to high school, which can cause a lot of anxiety and make students apprehensive about the big changes. Most students agreed they like high school more than middle school. They like the independence and say high school is all in all more fun. To most students high school is looked at as a large space with more room for freedom and opportunities for teachers to take classes more seriously.

I like the freedom I get in high school, especially during times like lunch and in the morning before classes start. The middle school felt very strict about that type of thing. I also enjoy the extracurricular activities at West more, like sports. Although the independence is nice, I loved the middle school more than I like high school by large amounts. I understand things change as you grow. But nobody teaches here. The work I get in 80% of my classes is busy work. I have probably 2 teachers that get up and explain the subject. It is different compared to the middle school teachers that would go in depth to help us learn the material in other ways than just reading it and expecting us to totally understand it. They would use visual representations or explain the material in other ways than what the book tells us. They also made hands-on activities for us to do that would help visual learners better. The teachers here are very nice and help me when I need it, it is just very different from what I had gotten used to.
