What do people think about West’s new principal? The majority of these answers are anonymous. We have asked students and teachers, as well as the principal. Mr.Young’s response was that he was just glad to be here.
Listing a few of our responses, some were positive or neutral: “He’s really nice, told us good luck at the summer training program, and I think he’s just a good guy.” “I mean he is pretty cool I guess, I don’t really know him.” “He is doing too much.” “He is okay I guess.” “He wants us to call Sally Sandra or Mrs.Byers, So I’m gonna say he’s decent.” “Secrets do not make friends, or that’s what he told us anyway.” Some responses we received were more negative, such as: “He is strict.” “He was disrespectful in choir class, asking us to play music when we didn’t have our sheet music.”
From Shannon Gilkeson: “I love the new principal, he is amazing, he has a bunch of interesting things he has in store for us, and I think it’s cool how he is doing the 500-dollar gift card. He has an amazing perspective on music and how he is really trying to connect with students.”

This is a very well organized and well written article, However, I have never spoken to Mr. Young so I can’t give my personal opinion about him. He seems like an interesting fella though.

I don’t really know Mr. Young personally I’ve only talked to him a few times but he seems like he’s trying to do the best he can as a first-year principal at West.
