Greenbrier West Highschool is hosting its first-ever esports west fest. Games include Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Rocket League (Rocket League will require a certain number of people to sign up). Esports director Austin Clay will be attending the event to scope out future talents in the scene. Winners of the tournaments will receive gift cards and the chance to be offered an esports scholarship to concord university. 

Super Smash Bros Ultimate Tournament Set-up. 

Console – Nintendo Switch

Bracket Structure – Brackets for first-round play will be filled in random order based on self-reported experience level. The winner of each match will advance to the next round. 

Game Play – Players will play 1 v. 1 matches. Each match will consist of 3 rounds. Each round will be best of 3. 

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Tournament Set-up

Game Play – Players will compete in up to 8-person 150cc Grand Prix races with normal items. Races will be randomly selected. Points will be totaled after 6 races.

Tournament sign-ups end on Friday, April 21st. The tournament begins on Wednesday, April 26th, and will last the entire school day. The tournament will be held in the auditorium and semi-finals/ finals will be projected in the auditorium. We hope to see you there!
