The Christmas Parade

Merry Christmas Image

The Christmas parade happens every year in Rainelle. People line up at the doctor offices, and the parage ends at the Kroger’s parking lot. The line-up will be at 2:00 pm and the parade starts at 3:30 pm. When you get there they will assign your number where you can win 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards. There will be JROTC, Color Guard, fire trucks, floats, Mr. and Mrs. Claus, and there will be floats with people on them tossing candy to children.

Sometimes they have hot chocolate and cookies, and they have a DJ who plays Christmas music. They always have a prince and princess for little kids. They pick two kids to be a prince and princess, and then children can see Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus at the Rainelle Fire Department.

Everyone with their numbers in the parade will meet back at Rainelle Town Hall for the awards, refreshments and pictures with Mr. and  Mrs. Claus. If you would like pictures, you would have to bring your own camera. This will also be our 2nd annual tree lighting ceremony.
