Faculty Members Rehearse for the Worst!

Active+Shooter+simulator

Active Shooter simulator

On November 1, 2018 about 800 school faculty members and some of the students had an active shooter simulator that took place at Greenbrier East High School.  A pretend shooter fired blanks as the staff members and students

hid in the classrooms.  The officers prepared the teachers by playing the 911 calls from Columbine.  The strategy back then was to hide under tables and now there is a new strategy in place.  New technology has come up with a special app that allows teachers to quickly contact 911 in case of an emergency.  The link below is WVVA’s video including interviews from Robert Workman (WV State Police SGT. and FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force) and Sheriff  Bruce Sloan (Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Dept.)
