Simulated Workplace

Simulated+Workplace

West Virginia Department of Education has now made it mandatory for all simulated workplaces to be inspected. This inspection is used to show how well the particular career and technical education (CTE) program will perform. School CTE programs are inspected at random to ensure the program is functioning as normal; therefore, all of the CTE classes need to be on their best performance every day.

Many classes have been preparing for months:  everything from new safety barriers around equipment to updating their safety guidelines. The number one goal of this is to examine the classes and make sure students are receiving every opportunity possible within their learning environment. Currently, it is unknown what happens if a class does not pass their inspection.

According to Mrs. Robertson, “On January 31, Dr. D’Antoni Assistant State Superintendent WVDE was very pleased with the CTE programs. She said that as a whole we have the potential to reach model status.” Until their final inspection of the 2017-2018 school year, all CTE programs will continue to better their programs.
