Cavtalk was able to interview Greenbrier West’s 2016 Homecoming Queen, Amber Clark, moments after she learned of her victory.
Reporter: Since this is your first year on Homecoming Court, how do you feel about winning?
Clark: “Oh my gosh, blown away! I’m blown away! What else do you want me to say? I’m just blown away, you know. I didn’t realize people noticed me this much.”
Reporter: How do you feel about this being the third year in a row a girl from the marching band has won Homecoming Queen?
Clark: “Oh, hot diggity! Let me tell you, it just amazes me that the band is now getting recognized more and more. Even if it is for Homecoming court, at least we’re getting recognized. People are noticing us more, and it’s making me for real happy.”
The runner-up for 2016 Homecoming Queen was Kaitlin Kyle. Many believe it was a close race among the Senior Homecoming candidates, and any of the five girls could have won and would have deserved it. No matter who won, it is a well-known fact that all of the ladies looked beautiful, and we are glad to have them in our ranks as a school.
