Tuesday night, December 6, the Cavaliers started the season 1-0 for the first time in 3 years. With that momentum, West planned to keep it up against Independence.

Friday night was a true test for the Cavs. Indy, a tough and experienced team, was a good indicator on how West would match-up against a bigger and experienced squad. The Cavaliers hoped their home-court advantage would have an effect. The game started off really sluggish for West. Sloppy play and poor shooting gave Indy the opportunity to build a lead. The Pats led 16-2 at one point.

However, the Cavaliers showed resiliency by coming back and making it a 9 point game by halftime.

The third quarter was crucial for West to make it an even closer game, but Indy didn’t let up. The game stayed at about a 10 point difference until the end, when the Patriots seemingly ran away with it. The score doesn’t perfectly indicate how the game was paced, West losing 39-60.
